We are excited to be launching our Autism Swimming Hour from Tuesday 5th March!

The Autism hour will enable participants to enjoy a safe and sensory-friendly environment without external distractions. Enjoy swimming and splashing in both our main and learner pool with the option of sensory interaction with our range of soft play items. During the session the poolside area of the Leisure Centre, including the changing rooms, will remain closed to the general public, allowing participants to have sole use of this area. The changing rooms will be accessible 15 minutes prior to the session and for 30 minutes afterwards to provide a comfortable space.

Will trained staff be on hand?

Trained staff will be on hand to welcome you and ensure this regular session caters for the needs of autistic participants and their families or carers. Our staff have recently undertaken Autism Awareness Award Level 1 training with The Golden Butterfly organisation.

How much does it cost?

Participants will be charged our concessionary swimming rate and carers (no maximum number) swim for FREE. Max Cards are welcome.

What should I bring?

Please remember to bring your swimwear, towels, toiletries, £1 coin or locker coin and a water bottle. Swimming accessories including goggles, swimming aids and hats as well as swimwear for adults and children are available to buy from reception.
