Sam Channing [Duty Manager]
I started working at Bridport Leisure Centre in November 2005 as a part-time Centre Assistant and quickly progressed into a full-time position before being promoted to a Senior Centre Assistant position in 2006.
Following a staffing restucture in 2008, I moved into the position of Recreation Supervisor and in January 2009, I was promoted to my current position of Duty Manager.
Within my role as Duty Manager, I am responsible for the recruitment and induction of operational staff. I also coordinate work experience placements with the local schools and colleges and I assist the Plant Technician with plant room and maintenence tasks.
During my time at Bridport Leisure Centre I have gained many qualifications including Pool Plant Operators Certificate, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, ASA Level 1 Swimming Teachers Qualification, First Aid at Work, De Fib and most recently NPLQ Unit 2 Trainer Assessor.
In my spare time I enjoy playing football for Netherbury and watching my favourite team Liverpool.
