Sam Channing [Maintenance Duty Manager]
I started working at Bridport Leisure Centre in November 2005 as a Centre Assistant. Since then I have worked in many roles at the Centre from Head Centre Assistant, Recreation Supervisor and Duty Manager up to my current position of Maintenance Duty Manager.
Within my current role I am responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Centre from rectifying defects to maintaining the Plant Room and ensuring that everything is in good working order. I also assist the Operations Team when required with changeovers and cover Duty Manager.
During my time at Bridport Leisure Centre I have had the opportunity to gain many qualifications including NVQ Level 2 Sport & Recreation, NVQ Level 3 Sport & Recreation Management, ASA Level 1 Swim Teaching, Pool Plant Operators Certificate, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, First Aid at Work, Defib, Portable Appliance Testing and most recently NPLQ Trainer Assessor Units 1 & 2 which allows me to teach and train lifeguards.
In my spare time I enjoy watching my favourite football team Liverpool and riding my motor bike.
