Nick Neale [General Manager]
I have been employed in the leisure industry for almost all of my working life (25 years).
Having gone to school in North Devon and then studying 'A' levels at Yeovil College, I undertook an HND in Business Studies at Teesside University in the mid-80s. I then qualified with MSc in Sociology of Sport and Sports Management from Leicester University.
I moved to Bridport in 2001 to take up the position of General Manager with Bridport & West Dorset Sports Trust. Previously, I managed a large leisure facility in Kent.
I am the Regional Quest Assessor for the South West, which involves visiting and inspecting other leisure facilities in the South of England and Channel Islands. It is this experience that has encouraged me to witness and use examples of good practice gleaned from the industry and introduce the same at Bridport Leisure Centre.
On a personal note, I am married with three children. My sporting prowess may best be desribed as an 'all rounder'! I play league squash and racketball, I enjoy playing cricket for the infamous Squanderers and I enjoy sailing and windsurfing in the summer months.
I am looking forward to taking Bridport Leisure Centre into its next exciting stage of its development, providing quality facilities for the local community and visitors to West Dorset. The best bit of my job is being involved with sport and watching the positive impact that it has on people's lives, This is very rewarding.
Best advice given - 'having fun can seriously improve your life!'
