Nick Neale [General Manager]
I have been employed in the leisure industry for almost all of my working life (25 years).
Having gone to school in North Devon and then studying A levels at Yeovil College, I undertook an HND in Business Studies at Teesside University in the mid-80s. I then qualified with a distinction in a Masters Degree in Sociology of Sport and Sports Management from Leicester University.
Joanne Hughes [Operations Manager]
I started working at Bridport Leisure Centre in 2002 as the Centre's Membership Manager having previously been employed for 2 years in Tourism Development at Weymouth & Portland Borough Council.My background is in marketing having graduated from the University of Luton in 1998 with a BA (Hons) in Business Studies with Marketing.
Julian Dean [Facilities Manager]
Having relocated to the West Country with my family, I joined the Leisure Centre on a part time basis in September 2008 primarily managing the Centre's facilities with an emphasis on our new state of the art Fitness Suite.
My working life started in various locations around Europe as a water ski coach but I found myself "a proper job" soon after as the Practice Manager with a firm of Accountants in London.
Will Thrower [Duty Manager]
I have been working at Bridport Leisure Centre since October 2008 as a Duty Manager. Prior to this I was working at Budmouth Sports Centre in Weymouth.Within my role as Duty Manager I am responsible for the day to day running of the Centre, ensuring we deliver the best service we possibly can. In addition, I have specific responsibility for the Centre's activities programme including holiday actviities, and the Cycle Safety outreach projects.
Kate Wilson [Duty Manager]
I joined Bridport Leisure Centre in February 2010 as Duty Manager having previously worked at Weymouth Sports Club as Senior Duty Manager for seven and a half years.
A wet side leisure centre is a new experience for me and I'm really enjoying learning the new skills required to fulfil the role of Duty Manager at Bridport Leisure Centre.
Sam Channing [Duty Manager]
I started working at Bridport Leisure Centre in November 2005 as a part-time Centre Assistant and quickly progressed into a full-time position before being promoted to a Senior Centre Assistant position in 2006.
Following a staffing restucture in 2008, I moved into the position of Recreation Supervisor and in January 2009, I was promoted to my current position of Duty Manager.
